On October 15, Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to our country Seyid Abbas Mousavi.
Welcoming the guest, the Minister congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the new post, wished him success in his activities in our country and expressed a hope of further extension of the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Touching upon the relations between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two states, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov said that visits at the level of delegations headed by the ministers as well as other senior officials, mutual support within the international organizations are indicative of the close relations not only between the Ministries of Internal Affairs but also between other law enforcement bodies.
It was emphasized at the introductory meeting that the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries have the high potential in the field of combating crime and suggested that further development of the relations would serve the peace and stability in the region for the benefit of our peoples.
Ambassador Seyid Abbas Mousavi thanked the Minister for warm hospitality, expressed satisfaction with the further extension of relations between the relevant structures of our states and assured that he would make every effort in that direction.
