Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan grants observer status in AMERIPOL

Within the framework of the 5th Extraordinary Summit of the Board of Directors of the Police Community of the Americas (AMERIPOL), the representation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the organization with observer status was ensured. 

The respective status is of high importance in terms of expanding cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the relevant law enforcement agencies of the AMERIPOL member states, conducting mutual exchange of information and best practices within the framework of international police cooperation, as well as increasing the opportunities for participation in the relevant events of the organization.

The observer status also serves to further develop international cooperation in the field of combating transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime, extremism, human trafficking, and other modern threats.
