Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vilayat Eyvazov met with his Georgian counterpart
18.05.2026At the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili and his delegation arrived in our country on an official visit.
On May 18, Sulkhan Tamazashvili and his entourage visited the Alley of Honor and honored the memory of the national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev. Representatives of the friendly country also visited the Alley of Martyrs and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument, paying tribute to the martyrs.
On the same day, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with his Georgian counterpart and the delegation he led.
Welcoming the guests, V.Eyvazov congratulated S.Tamazashvili on his appointment as Minister of Internal Affairs and expressed gratitude for accepting the invitation and attending the official visit.
He noted with satisfaction the high level of cooperation between the two countries' interior ministries, emphasizing that the documents signed in recent years have created favorable conditions for the development of a business environment, reflected in the exchange of information, and that effective cooperation in combating all forms of transnational crime, including cybercrime, serves the interests of our peoples and regional security.
The guest thanked them for the warm welcome, detailed information, and hospitality, and expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan's rapid development, the stability existing in the country, and the fact that Baku is one of the safest cities in the world.
During the visit, the guests visited the "N" military unit of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stationed in Baku and learned about its activities.
