The event, devoted to the appointment of this year’s graduates of the full-time department of the Police Academy to the officer positions, was held in the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 4 September.
The Minister of the Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Ramil Usubov opened the meeting with the introductory speech and noted that the appointment was carried out under the principles of transparency, clarity and justice and remarked that this method has proved its value in practice during the recent years. He also noted that promotion of the graduates of the Police Academy and the officers with higher education in jurisprudence to the middle command staff and providing them with all necessary care is one of the issues continuously focused on by the administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.      
The chief of the Main Human Resources Department, police major general Ismat Aliyev stated that 121 persons had applied to the Ministry to take part in the next such event, and announced the list of vacancies and candidates.   
Then the appointment was carried out by means of draw. For this purpose, the candidates to the middle command staff drew the special envelops with the positions of appointment. In the result of the draw, 72 of the graduates were appointed to the officer positions in Baku and the bodies and agencies of Main Transportation Police Department, and 49 of the candidates were appointed to the local police agencies according to their places of residence at their own request.       
Summarizing the event, Colonel General Ramil Usubov congratulated the graduates for their appointment to the middle command staff, as one of the most significant days in their lives, and wished them success in their hard and honorable service, and asked them to vindicate honor of the police.   
The minister, advising the candidates to improve their knowledge and skill in a continuous basis and master the latest information technologies, expressed his conviction that the young officers will carry out their duties and tasks with the sense of responsibility and contribute to the stability in the country and relentless fight against crimes, will justify the confidence put upon them and serve faithfully to out statehood and their oath.       
All candidates taking part in the draw were appointed to the positions of middle command staff under the relevant orders of the Minister of Internal Affairs on the same day.
