Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov met with his Turkish counterpart

At the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Chiftchi, and the delegation headed by him arrived in our country on an official visit.
On April 9, Minister Mustafa Chiftchi and the persons accompanying him visited the Alley of Honor and respectfully commemorated the dear memory of the national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev. Afterwards, the representatives of the brotherly country visited the “Eternal Flame” complex at the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial.
On the same day, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with his Turkish counterpart and the delegation headed by him.
Welcoming the guests, V. Eyvazov congratulated Mr. M. Chiftchi on his appointment as Minister of Internal Affairs and thanked him for accepting the invitation and arriving on an official visit.
He expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries, noting that the Ministry of Internal Affairs under his leadership has always attached great importance to the intensive development of relations with the law enforcement bodies of the brotherly country, including international cooperation. It was noted that these relations are primarily implemented on the basis of interstate agreements on mutual legal assistance, exchange of experience, development of friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
The Minister also drew attention to the positive results achieved by the Azerbaijani police and the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in maintaining public order in the republic and combating crime, emphasizing with satisfaction the special role and services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Türkiye, including the Gendarmerie Forces, in improving these activities, and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Türkiye, including the Gendarmerie Forces, in the person of Mr. Mustafa Chiftchi.
V. Eyvazov stated that he was confident that Mr. Mustafa Chiftchi’s first official visit to Azerbaijan would have a positive impact on the development and deepening of our relations.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, detailed information and hospitality, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Türkiye expressed satisfaction with his visit to our republic, with the fact that our friendly and brotherly countries always act from a united position and through joint efforts against global problems that seriously hinder peace and stability in the region, including all manifestations of organized crime, as well as with Azerbaijan’s rapid development, the stability established in our country, and the fact that Baku is one of the most beautiful capitals in the world and one of the safest cities.
He highly appreciated the useful cooperation between the relevant bodies of the two countries, stressing that they would continue to spare no effort for the development of relations, and that such cooperation and exchange of experience serve the interests of our peoples and countries.
A number of other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of friendship and cordiality.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to our country, Birol Akgun, attended the meeting.
