Inauguration of the Heydar Aliyev Centre of the Police Academy under the Ministry of Internal Affairs took place on the 2nd July, the day of the 95th Anniversary of the Azerbaijani Police formation. 

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony.

Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel General Ramil Usubov reported to the Head of state, who visited the Police Academy.

President Ilham Aliyev laid flowers to the foot of the monument of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev set up in the main square of the Academy.

Then the Head of state cut a ribbon symbolizing the official inauguration of the Heydar Aliyev Centre.

President Ilham Aliyev acquainted himself with the conditions created in the centre.

It was noted that development of internal affairs bodies was in the focus of continuous attention of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Great leader Heydar Aliyev made an invaluable contribution to the strengthening of the logistics of internal affairs bodies and improvement of professional development of the staff during the period of his government of the state. Employees of internal affairs bodies remember outstanding service of the National Leader in this area with due respect. Conditions created in the new-built Heydar Aliyev Centre in the Police Academy under the Minister of Internal Affairs are very important in terms of study of Heydar Aliyev’s meaningful life and the rich period of the modern history of Azerbaijan.

Owing to the political foresight of the Great Leader, who could take a correct view of the country geopolitical opportunities at his return to power, Azerbaijan avoided the risk of being isolated from the international community. The wise approach of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the processes taking place in the world reinforced the authority of our country. In the result of purposeful reforms carried out by the Great Leader Azerbaijan could lay the ground for its future development.

The Heydar Aliyev Centre created in the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has all conditions for study and propaganda of the nation-building philosophy of the National Leader of our people and ideology of Azerbaijanism. The primary goal of the centre is to collect and catalogize the materials concerning the life and activity of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, popularize of the research conducted in the Police Academy in respect of Heydar Aliyev’s heritage and elaborate plans and programs in this direction as well as to take measures for provision of their logistics.

There is a bust monument of the leader of genius set up in the three-storey building constructed by the most up-to-date method. On the second storey there are photo-stands describing various periods of the life and many-field social and political activity of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The first stand contains the Leader’s childhood, studentship and youth photos. Another stand is dedicated to Heydar Aliyev’s activity in security bodies.  It also contains some photos and documents reflecting the period of government of our state by the great personality in the 1970s. The centre also provides access to the detailed information about activity of the Great Leader in Moscow in the 1980s. There are also photo-stands dedicated to Heydar Aliyev’s activity in Nakhichevan early in the 1990s.

It was brought to the attention of President Ilham Aliyev that there are two separated corners in the centre where decrees, diplomas and other documents relevant to the Great Leader are exhibited. Other stands created in the centre cover the period of Heydar Aliyev’s second coming to power.

Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always gave special care to internal affairs bodies and their employees. The centre also presents the photos reflecting return of the leader to power. And the photos dedicated to participation of the worthy successor of the great leader President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev in various events of internal affairs bodies were collected on a special stand. An individual corner was created for national symbols of Azerbaijan and police insignia of distinction. Boards with wise quotations from National Leader Heydar Aliyev concerning internal affairs bodies and police and monitors displaying video plots were mounted in various parts of the centre.

The third storey of the centre was provided for organization of more rational leisure time of the academy staff. Here the photo-studio carries out collection, research and printing of photo content reflecting the life and creative work of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. For the purpose of more extensive study of Heydar Aliyev’s heritage students and attendees will have an opportunity to use the photos made and collected in the photo-studio in their lessons, slide contests, trainings and conferences conducted in the Academy.

All conditions were created also in the chess club room. There are also the classrooms for exchange of views and virtual lessons as well as the centre of foreign languages equipped with functional computers by means of which the English language is taught. The centre of study of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s heritage also functions under the centre. In accordance with a comment of the genius “A police employee must be competent, university-educated and experienced in his sphere” an electronic library was created in the centre for the purpose of meeting the needs of students in reading and improvement of their intelligence level. The library can provide its readers with electronic books about various periods of Heydar Aliyev’s life and activity and the profile of the Police Academy.

And the first storey of the centre includes an auditorium intended for various events and conferences as well as the leisure areas.

Having familiarized himself with the Heydar Aliyev Centre, President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev met employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and offered congratulations on the Day of Police.

Then President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel General Ramil Usubov delivered their speeches.
At the end of the ceremony commemorative photos were taken.
