27.09.2024Event dedicated to September 27 - Memorial Day was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Military servants and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who joined the 44-day Patriotic War, participated in the event.
Firstly a minute of silence was observed in honor of our courageous sons who gave their life to defend our nation's territorial integrity and sovereignty, then the National Anthem was listened.
Speaking at the event Police Lieutenant General Ismat Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs told about the glorious battle path of our armed forces, including the military personnel and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who united like an iron fist under the unified command of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in the Patriotic War, noted that they showed examples of high professionalism and heroism, that during the liberation of our land, 66 personnel rose to the height of martyrdom, 346 people were wounded, 4 military personnel were awarded the title of "Hero of the Patriotic War", and thousands of our military personnel were awarded orders and medals.
Similar to the Patriotic War, he claimed that local anti-terrorist operations carried out with the assistance of our Armed Forces, comprising military men and police officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, had restored Azerbaijan's state sovereignty.
In order to create security and stability in the areas liberated from occupation and to expedite the realization of the Great Return, the Deputy Minister expressed his pleasure at the military personnel and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs carrying out their duties with great pride.
The Patriotic War, which lasted only 44 days and was regarded by military experts as an unprecedented military operation, was fought with resoluteness by the military personnel and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs against the invading enemy in different directions of the front line, as noted by Major General Inqilab Muradov, Head of the Special Staff Department and Deputy Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was similar to the First Karabakh War.
Next, the speakers stressed that they will stop at nothing to live up to the confidence placed in them by enhancing the professionalism, knowledge, and abilities of our police and military officers—who receive particular consideration and care from the nation's leader.
At the end of the event, a documentary film featuring the heroic deeds of our brave sons in the Patriotic War was shown.
