Analysis of the 1st half of 2023
Activities in the combating against crime and public order protection in the republic has implemented purposefully during the first half of 2023, safety of citizens has protected and the criminogenic situation has kept under control.
It was recorded 19.533 criminal cases regarding to the state bodies which the are subject of operation-search and investigative activities during the reporting year. 40.9 % (7.982) of them belongs to economical activity, 41,6% (8.120) are against public security and public order, 13.8% (2,691) are against personality, etc. are illegal acts. 16,145 offences, or 82.6% of all crimes, were small and non-threatening.
In comparison with 6 months of 2022, it is expected decrease 15,4% (-14) in homicide, 1.7 % (-65) in theft, 8.4% (-10) in robbery, 25% (-13) banditry, 16,6% (-53) in hooliganism, 26,1% (-59) in ecological crimes.
90% of the 18,661 crimes registered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office were solved with the implemented search and investigative measures. 90 % of special or special serious crimes, 85.7 % of those that occurred in non-obvious circumstances, 97.8 % of against personality, 97.5 % of homicide, 97.1 % of tries to kill people, 96.6% of intentional serious harm to health, 81.3% of those against property, including 72.4% of thefts, 92.1% of frauds, 95.8% of robberies, 95.1 % of banditry, 97.1% of extortion, 87% of carjacking crimes and 92.1% of hooliganism were solved.
258 cases closed from previous years, 837 crimes with "hot traces" were opened. The success rate of the search for suspects increased by 2.9% to 77%. The National Central Bureau of Interpol was able to locate 65 (+19) people who were wanted worldwide as well as 25 (+8) people who were wanted by member nations.
Overall, 9,723 persons were detained and charged with crimes, including 129 who had unlawfully obtained and carried firearms. 115 criminal organizations that had perpetrated serious and particularly serious crimes were also neutralized.
More than 946 kg, or 2 tons of 921 kg, of narcotic substances were removed from circulation illegally as compared to the same period in 2022. The 143-ton drug-containing plant was completely annihilated in green mass.
Capital - Baku
The capital police had success fighting crime, defending residents' rights and freedoms, and advancing legal interests in the sixth month of 2023.
8.552 criminal case or 45.8 % of recorded criminal cases in republic by internal affairs or prosecutor bodies was in Baku city and 88.5 % of them were solved. 80.4 % of these criminal cases are less serious and do not cause great public danger, 19.6 % of them are serious and special serious.
In comparison with 6 months of 2022,it was expected decrease by 17,9 % in homicide, by 44,4 % in acts of sexual violence, by 5,5% in rubbery, by 18,4% in banditry, by 16.7 % in banditry, by 27,9% in hooliganism, by 2.1 % in crimes related to drugs, by 13,6 % in human tracking crimes,
84.3% of crimes committed in non-obvious circumstances, 97.3% of crimes against the personality, including 100% of intentional murders, 97.6% of intentional serious harm to health, 83.3% of rape crimes are solved.
With the help of the procedures put in place in collaboration with the prosecuting authorities, 114 cases, including 15 serious and especially criminal cases that were closed from previous years, were resolved, and 181 accused people were detained for those unlawful acts.
An impressive 80% of crimes against immigrants were solved.
