Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, colonel-general Eyvazov Vilayat Suleyman oglu

He was born in 1968 in Abragunus village of Julfa region. In 2000, he graduated from The Police Academy of the MIA of Azerbaijan Republic. He did statutory actual military service in Armed Forces.

He has been serving in Internal Affairs Bodies since November 1994. He began his activities in Internal Affairs Bodies as a private policeman, held various posts in crime detection bodies, worked in the position of Deputy Chief of the Main Criminal Intelligence  Department of MIA, and during 2001-2005, worked as Deputy Chief and Chief of Main Organized Crime Department.

By Order No. 753 of the President of Azerbaijan, dated on 14 April 2005, he was appointed the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic. By Order No. 1889 of the President of Azerbaijan, dated on 11 March 2016, he was appointed the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic.

By Order No. 1278 of the President of Azerbaijan, dated on 20 June 2019, he was appointed the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic.

He was honoured with several awards for organization of the activities on combating crimes, for efficient activity on protection of the Constitution and the governmental structure and securing of public order. By Decree No. 725 of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, dated on 30 June 2002, he was awarded with “Azerbaijan Flag” Order. By Order No. 598 of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, dated on 1 July 2014, he was awarded with the Order "For Service to the Fatherland" of the 2nd degree. Pursuant to Presidential Order No. 263 of June 29, 2018 awarded the order "For Service to the Fatherland" of the 1st degree. Pursuant to Presidential Order No. 2338 dated December 9, 2020, he was awarded the Victory Order. Pursuant to Presidential Order No. 2912 of July 1, 2008 he was awarded with the For Heroism Medal.

Pursuant to President Order No.293 of 2004 he was conferred the special rank of Police Major General, pursuant to President Order No.1546 conferred the special rank of Police Lieutenant General. Pursuant to President Order No.1299 of 2019 he was conferred the highest military rank of Colonel General.  

He is married and has three children.
