The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan headed by Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Ramil Usubov arrived on an official visit to the Republic of Turkey on 19 February to take part in the 6th Conference of Ministers of the Budapest Process.

 The same day, a meeting of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and Turkey was held.
Suleyman Soylu expressed gratitude to Ramil Usubov for acceptance of the invitation to the 6th Conference of Ministers of the Budapest Process and recalled his first official visit to our country in the end of the last year having mentioned the joint stance maintained by our friendly states in respect of global threats including all manifestations of organized crime, especially terrorism.
He noted that Turkey is the primary target for terrorist organizations acting in the region and expressed satisfaction with the resolute and tough line and specific measures taken by Azerbaijan against such gangs, and said that they would continue to make efforts to extend the cooperation and improve sharing experience and information between the relevant state authorities.

Having expressed his gratitude for the invitation to this credible international conference and accorded hospitality, Minister Usubov emphasized with satisfaction successful development of bilateral relations in all spheres and great contribution of fraternal and friendly relations between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in these efforts.
Having noted with satisfaction the high potential of the cooperation, signing of a number of instruments in the sphere of personnel and military training, as well as numerous bilateral meetings, Minister Ramil Usubov emphasized the importance of further improvement of exchange of information and experience between the law enforcement agencies of the two states in fighting organized transnational crime.
The parties also discussed a number of other issues in amicable and frank atmosphere of the meeting.

 The 6th Conference of Ministers of the Budapest Process opened in Istanbul on 20 February.
First of all, a videomessage of Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres to the event participants was made. Then, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, the Chairman-country of the Budapest Process, Suleyman Soylu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, the Co-Chairman of the Budapest Process, Peter Szijjarto, European Commissioner for Migration, Internal Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos, Director General of the International Center for Migration Policy Development Michael Spindelegger and other officials delivered their reports.
Speaking at the conference Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov told on a negative impact noted illegal migration has on criminal situation, relevant measures taken in this area in our country, as well as causes of the migration crisis in the world, especially in the Middle East, and voiced proposes to overcome this crisis.
At the end of the Conference, the instruments titled the Istanbul Plan of Obligations on the Silk Road Migration Partnership and the Five-Year Plan - Call for Action were adopted.
