Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic Colonel General Ramil Usubov visited the Republic of Georgia from August 2 to August 4 at the invitation of Minister of Internal Affairs of this country Giorgi Mgebrishvili.

 During the meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs held on August 3, the parties noted that friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia successfully develop in accordance with the established strategy, and special attention is given to further strengthen mutual relations between the leaders of two states. At the same time, it was emphasized that cooperation between the relevant institutions of two states, first of all interaction in the field of prevention of international terrorism, transnational organized crime and especially illegal drug trafficking, trafficking in persons and illegal migration, exchange of information and best practices, and created legal framework serve interests of our countries, which are close friends and strategic partners, and the purpose of maintaining security in the region.

The parties also shared ideas regarding the current status of cooperation in the sphere of regional security including frontier zones and priority areas and discussed other matters of concern.
