Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mgebrishvilli paid an official visit to our country by invitation of Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic Colonel General Ramil Usubov.
On November 26, Mr.Mgebrishvilli and his party has visited the Alley of Honor and laid a wreath at the tomb and paid tribute to the national Leader, the architect and creator of modern Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. The delegation also laid flowers at the tomb of famous ophthalmologist Academician Zarifa khanim Aliyeva. At the Martyrs' Lane, guests from the friendly state laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame Complex in tribute to the memory of brave fighters who sacrificed themselves for the sake of independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Further, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic, Colonel General Ramil Usubov received the delegation headed by Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mgebrishvilli.
The Minister welcomed warmly the guests and mentioned that mutual friendly relations between two states have been developed and strengthened since ancient times. Mr. Usubov emphasized the peculiar role of our national Leader Heydar Aliyev in establishment of these relations and noted that President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev and Georgia’s leadership pay special attention to the further development of these relations.
Mr Usubov emphasized the successful development of these relations in accordance with the political will of the Heads of both states and further intensification in the result of and mutual visits of chief executives of our countries.
Participants of the meeting also emphasized the role of cooperation between two ministries of internal affairs, especially in the field of transnational crime prevention, sharing experience and information and created regulatory system in serving the interests of our fraternal peoples and provision of security in the region.

Minister Usubov also shared information on the criminal situation in the country.
He noted that in the result of the domestic and foreign policy carried out by the President of Azerbaijan the international standing of our country strengthened considerably as evidenced by successful hosting of such outstanding events as the Eurovision song contest and the First European Games and provision of the highest level of security and public order during these events.
Touching upon problems, the Minister stated that combating international terrorism being one of the main kinds of transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking in drugs, trafficking in human beings and irregular migration are always a prime focus and emphasized the importance of integrating efforts in effective prevention of these threats.

Mr.Mgebrishvilli expressed profound gratitude for hearty welcome, detailed information and hospitality shown to the delegation, shared Mr. Usubov’s opinion on integrating efforts in transnational organized crime prevention, and expressed his interest in cooperation in further improvement of the relations between the relevant government entities of the country and internal affairs bodies of Azerbaijan, their good neighbor and friend.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Georgia Teymuraz Sharashenidze took part in the meeting.
