April 22 - Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic Colonel General Ramil Usubov received the delegation headed by Head of Gulhane Military Medical Academy of the Turkish Armed Forces Colonel General Omar Pach being on an official visit in our country.

The Minister welcomed warmly the guests and mentioned that mutual friendly and fraternal relations between two states have developed and strengthened during the years of independence, emphasized the peculiar role of our national Leader Heydar Aliyev in establishment of these relations and noted that President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev successfully carries out Heydar Aliyev’s policy called ‘One nation, two states’.

Mr Usubov noted that political will and mutual visits of the Heads of both states propelled relations between our countries to a totally new level and emphasized the importance the agency headed by him attaches to further development of the relations with law enforcement bodies of fraternal Turkey.
The Minister highly appreciated the invaluable contribution Turkey made to formation of the Army including the MIA Internal Troops, their turning into the armed forces meeting the latest requirements and further professional advancement of the personnel and expressed gratitude for training of over 700 service persons in higher military schools and Police Academy of the fraternal state under the auspices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He expressed his confidence that the visit of the delegation headed by Head of Gulhane Military Medical Academy of the Turkish Armed Forces will promote further extension of this cooperation.

Having expressed gratitude for hearty reception and detailed information, Colonel General Omar Pach noted that he considered this visit an honour and expressed satisfaction with rapid development of our republic in a short space of time. Mr Pach reminded Ataturk’s phrase “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy and its sorrow is our sorrow” and stated that he would make every effort to provide further development of the relations between our countries.
