The delegation headed by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, police General-Lieutenant Vilayat Eyvazov made an official visit to the People's Republic of China to take part in the 86th Session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
The official opening ceremony took place on the 26th of September.
Having welcomed the guests of the session which is hosted by China for the first time, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and Secretary General of Interpol Jurgen Stock wished continued success in their future endeavors.

During this 4-day session, its participants will hear reports on the agency activities, elect new members and senior officers of the Executive Committee of Interpol and discuss international cooperation.
 After the opening ceremony, Vilayat Eyvazov held a meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Mehmet Ersoy. The parties expressed content with the development of cooperation between our friendly countries in all spheres including the Ministries of Internal Affairs.

Later on the same day, Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China Guo Shengkun received the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, police General-Lieutenant Vilayat Eyvazov.
The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs conveyed greetings and best wishes of Minister of Internal Affairs of our republic Colonel General Ramil Usubov to Mr. Guo Shengkun and reminded that relations between the two states originated from trade and cultural connections via the ancient Great Silk Way and an official visit of Great National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the People's Republic of China in 1994 had prompted the development of these relations.

It was noted that this visit played an important role in determination of the area of cooperation and this political course continued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev as well as relevant documents signed during his official visit to China opened a new page in the development of bilateral relations and provided for a new stage of these relations.

 Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China is carried out based on the Agreement signed during a visit of Minister of Internal Affairs of our republic Colonel General Ramil Usubov to this country in April of 2004, and at the same time bilateral relations are maintained through the intermediary of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
Experience of China in combating cyber crime and in the field of training of specialists was highly appreciated during the meeting.

The Minister of Public Security of China expressed content with the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in the Session and stated their readiness to further develop relations between the relevant institutions of the two states.
Within the framework of the event, Mr. Vilayat Eyvazov also held meetings with Deputy Minister of Public Security of China Wei Li and Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova Alexandru Jizdan at which the parties discussed relevant issues.
