The minister of internal affairs of Georgia Alexander Chikaidze has been in official visit to Azerbaijan with the invitation of the minister of internal affairs of our Republic colonel general Ramil Usubov.
In the morning of the 4th of May, Mr. Alexander Chikaidze and the persons accompanying him went to the Honorary Avenue have laid wreath before the monument of national leader of our people, the architect and builder of Modern Azerbaijan state Heydar Aliyev, and remembered the memory of the great leader. Flowers were laid on the grave of well known ophthalmologist, scientist, and academician Zarifa Aliyeva. The representatives of the friend country also visited the graves of the brave fighters who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in Martyr’s Avenue, and laid wreath before the “Eternal Torch” complex erected for the memory of them.
Then the minister of internal affairs, colonel general Ramil Usubov has received the delegation led by the minister of internal affairs of Georgia Alexander Chikaidze.

The minister welcoming the guests sincerely reminded that the friendship between our peoples had ancient history, and the services of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in building and development of bilateral relations, and noted that they gave special importance to widening of bilateral relations. Mr. Ramil Usubov stated that those relations was developing in accordance with the political will of the heads of countries and determined strategy, have deepened more in the result of mutual visits of leaders of state and government, and expressed that the cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs especially joint relations in the field of fighting transnational crime, exchange of experience and information and established normative legal basis serve to concerns of our friend and brother people, and securing the safety in the region.

Then the minister Ramil Usubov gave brief information on criminogenic situation in the country, the works implemented in the past period for securing the social and political stability in the country and the implemented reforms.
It was noted that the documents signed between the ministries especially the agreement signed between the Republics of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey on cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, organized crime and other types of grave crimes have given push to development of mutual relations in the level of international organizations.
The minister of Internal Affairs spoke about existing problems, and stressed that combating illegal turnover of drugs, international terrorism, trafficking in human beings and illegal migration that is one of the main types of transnational organized crime was in the center of attention, and it was possible to combat them efficiently by joint efforts.

Mr. Alexander Chikaidze noting that it was the first time that he came to Azerbaijan and Baku is one of the most beautiful cities of the world thanked for sincere reception, detailed information and the hospitality, and stated that they were interested in development of relations with Azerbaijan between the authorities of internal affairs as well as in all fields. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Georgia Teymuraz Sharashenidze also took part in the meeting.
