The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan headed by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Ramil Usubov arrived on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul-Aziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz.The meeting between the Azerbaijani delegation and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held on 19 February. Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul-Aziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani colleague for acceptance of his invitation to visit the country and emphasized extension of the cooperation between our countries in all spheres in recent years.
Having expressed gratitude for the official invitation, hearty reception and the highest level of hospitality, Ramil Usubov expressed his confidence that this visit would serve further strengthening of the cooperation between two ministries.
Having touched upon the traditionally friendly relations between our peoples which have ancient history and culture, Minister Ramil Usubov noted with satisfaction that these relations established by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev are developing dynamically owing to the political will of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and King of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
At the meeting, the Intergovernmental Protocol was signed between the ministries of two states to provide extension of the relations between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries and cooperation in crime prevention efforts within the scope of improvement of the contractual and legal base between the states.
The parties also discussed the current status of the cooperation in the sphere of security, exchanged ideas on priority areas and touched upon other matters of concern in the frank and working climate of the meeting.
On the second day of the visit, King of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan headed by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Ramil Usubov.
Having noted that relations between two countries reached the highest level and successfully develop in all spheres including the law-enforcement area, the King emphasized that his country gives full support to Azerbaijan on the global stage. At the same time, the King sent sincere greetings to his friend and brother —President Ilham Aliyev who puts in great efforts to establish the unity of Islamic countries.
Having expressed his gratitude for high-level attention and hospitality, Minister Ramil Usubov informed the King of Saudi Arabia of the meetings and negotiations held and noted that this visit would serve further strengthening of relations established on a firm basis and the interests of our peoples and states.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of our country to Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev took part in the reception and meetings.
