01.08.2017On July 31, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic Colonel General Ramil Usubov received Mr. Javan Mesnard, the Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives (USA) staying on a visit in our country.
The Minister emphasized special attention given to the development of relations between our country and USA and mentioned the special role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the establishment of relations based on mutual trust between two states, whose official visit to USA in summer of 1997 marked the peak of bilateral relations.
The Minister reminded that President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the policy of integration of our country into the world, transformation of Azerbaijan into the leader state in the region and pursuing an independent political course established by the Great Leader, and emphasized the development of relations with USA in all spheres in the line of ascent.
Further, Mr. Ramil Usubov reminded of the challenging social and political situation that took place in our republic during the first years of independence, drastic consequences of the Armenian aggression, the threat of civil war, loss of control over the criminal situation, and shared information on social, economic and legal-democratic reforms and measures carried out in all spheres of public life after the return of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the supreme power.
The Minister also informed the guest of improvement of activities carried out by the internal affairs agencies in accordance with international standards, creation of a new legal framework bringing human rights and freedoms into the foreground, participation of foreign experts in this work and efforts made in other spheres.
Mr. Javan Mesnard expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Internal Affairs for cordial reception and detailed information and shared deep impressions made upon him by magnificent nature of our country, rapid economic development and amicability and hospitality of its people he could see during his first visit to Azerbaijan and familiarity with Baku and regions.
The parties also discussed other matters of concern in the friendly and frank atmosphere of the meeting.
